Q1: What is The IPD – OUM Certificate in Financial Management?
A1: The IPD-OUM Certificate in Financial Management (CFM) is a certificate of evidence, confirming that the holder possesses a competent level of financial skills for everyday business. This is a structured programme, designed for working adults who wish to pursue a lifelong learning programme beyond their acquired skills. Many non-finance professionals will find this programme very relevant to their business operations, particularly in developing better business decision-making processes and improvements. Entrepreneurs can make this programme their foundation to enhance their business acumen and management.

Q2: How the certificate is awarded?
A2: All participant are required to attend classes for all 6 modules and complete a formal assessment comprising of assignments and a final examination on financial knowledge and skills application, before receiving the IPD – OUM Certificate of Financial Management (CFM).

Q3: Who is IPD – OUM?

Q4: Where are the classes for this programme held and how long is the course duration?
A4: The classes are held in OUM Campuses on Saturdays and participants can complete the course within 2 months over a 8 consecutive Saturdays. This schedule has been designed for busy working professionals whom can only find weekends to attend classes at their own time. In addition, we too have weekday classes where classes for all the six modules are conducted every month, mainly to meet the needs of our corporate clients. Flexibility in the choice of training venue and minimum number of participants can be arranged for business organizations as part of their in-house talent development.

Q5: What are the eligibility requirements?
A5: There are NO academic pre-requisites for enrolment into this programme. Most participants are, however, expected to be employed and have some working experience.Each participant will also be expected to be fully committed personally to achieving life long skills in managing money.

Q6: How much is the course fees?
A6: The Course Fee is RM4,200 covering registration, tutorial lessons, examination and study materials.

Q7: I am currently working and cannot afford the fees. Do you have any financial assistance provided for this course?
A7: Most financial institutions provide personal loan financing. However, our alliance partner, RHB Bank Bhd. is ready to offer eligible participants with study loan financing on flexible terms. Call us to find out more on financial assistance available.

Q8: Can my company/ employer sponsor a class for this certificate programme?
A8: Yes, we encourage sponsors from employers, and we are pleased to speak to your executive in charge to further discuss on the details. Call us to make an appointment.

Q9: Can I select and attend only specific modules instead of all the 6 modules?
A9: Yes. A Certificate of Attendance for each module attended will be awarded by FiNET associates as evidence of course participation. You have the option to complete all other modules, within 12 months of registration by submitting all required assignments and satisfactory achievement at the examination. The participant is then eligible to apply for the Certificate in Financial Management from the Open University Malaysia. The Participant will be required to pay all outstanding fees to the Open University of Finet Associates upon decision to proceed for the award of the Certificate of Financial Management.
